I think we're talking past each other, because I mostly agree. Personally, as a straight woman who doesn't write m/m I have not been involved in and do not consider myself in a position to make any judgements about the "gay men vs m/m by women" discussion.

I realise my Poster 6 looks like it might be intended as a commentary on that, but I was definitely not referring to the people accusing men of silencing women, because that argument does make a certain amount of sense. But in my experience every time someone says "I think some fanfic writers are contributing to Oppression X" someone says "You're silencing me as a woman" even when everyone in the conversation is female. (EDIT: and sometimes they have a point anyway. That's the thing, you can't tell if an argument is derailing or not without the context)

In retrospect it was an unfortunate choice since it does look like I'm talking about the similar sounding but much less unambiguously derailing (if they are derailing at all, and as I said, I don't feel able to judge) arguments people have been making recently, and I'm sorry about that.

I haven't addressed all your points since I'm about to go out but wanted to make this aspect clear. EDIT: I added some appendices which I hope address some of your other points.
