A Deeper Season (Gregor/Miles, similar style to the books, made of awesome. Quite long, though)

Also some more recs from the place I found this one:

thank you. I'm having a lot of difficulty getting in to it - I'm finding that the writing of both Miles and Gregor don't match with my mental pictures of them, which I think has been the problem with most of the fandoms that I've tried reading in (which is why I tend to read in one where I've never seen the TV show, so have no in-built schemas that the authors have to mesh with)

Heh. See, it's the first fanfic I encountered where I didn't have that problem. I guess it's all very much a matter of taste.

I think that if I wasn't so surrounded with people going on about fanfic I would have given up on it before I found anything I really liked. It doesn't help that what I want from fanfic is not what most of it is offering :)

I've now finished reading it. I felt that it did get stronger as it went along, but I still didn't really believe the character of Miles (the rest I was fine with). I've also read a couple of the sequels, and while not wholly invested in the universe, at least interested enough.

Thank you!

I actually found the sequel annoying, it turned Miles into too much of a helpless victim. But yes, glad you enjoyed them anyway :)
