I know, it fits perfectly!(*) I was pondering a follow up, where Lady Catherine and Mrs Darcy encourage a young Anne and Darcy to "play" together, but I got skeeved out by the whole "Small girl's brain in a jar" thing.
It also got me thinking: how old is Anne? Darcy is 35, and if they knew each other as children she can't be that young. Maybe nobody else will marry someone so old and likely to not carry an heir which is why Lady Catherine is so desperate.
(Yes, ok, I admit it, I spent part of yesterday afternoon writing a happy ending for Anne de Bourgh in my head. Shut up, we sickly girls need to stick together, and I was trying to wash the image of a small girl in a jar out of my head)
(*)WAIT: I could draw that scene! That way I get Darcy and Elizabeth but also at least one Steampunk element, AND some humour. Thankyou, distant muse :)
