One of my mental rules for "Would I want to date this person?"(*) is "Would they let me 'win' an argument if I was right?". And thinking about it that's true of all my close friends as well, though there was no conscious choice involved.

(*)A question I haven't had to ask in a non-hypothetical way for a long time, but the rules are still there :)
