I must admit I've always reacted against that aspect of Buddhism(*) and to a lesser extent christianity, since I feel pretty strongly that people should try and change others (sometimes), or we are complicit in the harm they cause to third parties. Criminals for example. Yet then I wonder how you draw the line between that and aggressive evangelical dogmatism, so I can see the benefit of your approach, it just doesn't suit me.
