The relationship between Mulder and Scully and the scepticism/aliens win ratio is fine in the early seasons of the X-Files, but they screw it up badly (in the predictable way) later, and that's mainly why I lost interest in the show. I think the high point for me is second season - they've figured out what they're doing and they haven't stuffed it up yet.
