Oh yes, the word "clone" seems to bring out the magical thinking. Identical twins are clones, probably better than we'll ever achieve (because they also share uterine environment). And for better or worse, I happen to have a pair of identical twins in my immediate social circle who may look alike, but have noticeably different personalities, to the point that while their voices fundamentally are the same, the way they talk means I can instantly tell who is talking from intonation, attitude, etc. I mean, my sister and I are harder to distinguish vocally (and we don't look much alike).
