sqbr: I lay on the couch, suffering an out of spoons error (spoons)

Thankyou for your comment, you pointed out some huge glaring errors in my post which I have hopefully fixed.

I misread that on first go, as if the primary target of your ire is straight people being boundary policed, instead of straight people doing the boundary policing. The latter is what I think you meant, yes?

Oh god, yes! *edits*

You make a very, very good point about that article. In general, although I believe very strongly that sexual identity is not just about where you are on the Kinsey Scale (which is why I feel confident saying I'm straight even though I'm not totally confident I'd never get involved with a woman) and that it's impossible to judge anyone else's identity for them... I managed to have my post come across as saying the exact opposite.

*edits post* As I now say in the post, my point was that even if we pretend that it's ok to judge people's sexuality as if it's some externally verifiable objective measure eg the Kinsey Scale, anyone who isn't a 0 or 6 has their sexuality erased.

And I need to think about your comment some more since I'm pretty sure there's more I'm not getting. Sorry for being so absurdly reductive.
