Those are all very good points. The more I think about it the more I realise it's not just an issue with fanworks fandom it's an issue with people. And that doing it in public is, if not impossible in principle, probably not a good idea for me (and thus I was inspired to expand my circle, making locked posts less private but still not public).

I do get the distinct impression I've just been not noticing/seeing some of this criticism.
