I watched it and thought it was cool but I don't tend to 'meta' that much. You looked into the film a lot more deeply than I did; I assumed the "real world" was the start (everything in the actual asylum), then there was the layer of her fantasy world to cope (where they were showgirls) and then there was the extra layer of her "dancing worlds" (all the crazy sci-fi stuff) and didn't really wonder much further about the various layers.
