My fanworks about disabled characters

Normally I'd be loathe to be all "LOOK AT MY AWESOMENESS" but it is SO HARD to find not-totally-creepy fanworks about disabled characters that I decided this would be worth doing. Here's some recs to other people's fanworks.

All art has a description, and all comics have transcripts (if I've missed any let me know), and all art is safe for work (not all the fic is, but it's labelled). All characters mentioned are canonically disabled, and I've only included works where the disability feels at least vaguely relevant.

Pride and Prejudice:
Unlike a lot of people, I've interpreted Anne de Bough as being about as sick as her mother says she is. She has fatigue, poor eyesight, chronic pain, and digestive issues (I decided this was poor digestion leading to anaemia, but it's not clear) At this point in her life Jane Austen didn't like sick people much :/

An Agreeable Companion series, Pride and Prejudice, Anne/Mary, about 40,000 words plus art: Mary Bennet becomes Miss Anne de Bough's companion. The experience of being chronically ill is an undercurrent to the romantic/humourous plot.

Avatar: the Last Airbender

Toph is blind, she has the ability to sense and control rock which makes up for it to some extent, but she still can't read or "see" while on ice or wood etc. Teo is paraplegic and gets around in a wheelchair that can turn into a glider. Azula has a mental breakdown at the end of the show. The depiction of disability is mostly pretty good, except for Azula.

Meanings tied up in dots and lines 3288 words plus art, gen: Toph and Teo's father invent a reading/printing system very like Braille.

Learning to Fly comic, 4 panels, gen. Teo, learning to fly.

Toph and Azula picnic art, Toph/Azula. Toph and Azula have a picnic a few years after the show.

Mass Effect

Joker has brittle bone disease which causes serious mobility issues. EDI is an artificial intelligence, some people think shipping them has unfortunate implications, and I can see that, but I just really like their dynamic. Thane has a terminal lung disease. Both are kickass and help save the galaxy, but fandom has an unfortunate tendency to either ignore their illnesses or write them as sad pathetic woobies. Tali isn't disabled, exactly, but her species have terrible immune systems that mean they have to live in environment suits.

The Mass Effect series has it's issues, but in my opinion deals with disability and physical differences really well. Note that this is a game where the specifics of the plot and main character (Shepard) are to some extent controlled by the player. If you get really lost there's a wiki :)

The Universal Laws of Motion: Several stories, each around 5K words, Joker/EDI, Female Shepard/Samantha Traynor, Female Shepard/Thane. Joker (and some other people) save the universe with snarky dialogue and physics. Has two endings, since someone complained that my original ending wasn't happy enough.

Sex and the Citadel 2412 words: Joker/EDI fluff.

Young Tali art, gen: Tali as a child in a sealed chamber, looking happy.

I also have some fic about Tali, but I'm not 100% sure it counts.

Homestuck

Terezi is blind can can sense by smell and taste. Tavros is paraplegic for part of the story. Sollux is blind for part of the story, though that hadn't happened yet when I drew my art! The depiction of disability is mixed.

Tavros as Teo, Terezi as Toph art, gen: the obvious crossover with Avatar the last Airbender :)

Sollux Ancestor art, gen: Before we found out the truth, I imagined his ancestor as a grumpy old disabled woman.

In the afterlife comic, 5 panels, gen: Tavros's death was upsetting and ableist, so I drew this to make myself feel better about it.

30s AU Terezi and Nepeta comic, one panel, Terezi/Dave: Imagining an alternate universe where Terezi is completely blind.

Misc

Press Gang: Billy and Mama Morton, art, gen: ridiculous futuristic wheelchair just because.

Full Metal Alchemist: Winry and Paninya art, Winry/Paninya: An amputee and the mechanic fixing her prosthesis.

Friday Night Lights: Jason coaches Smash art, gen: This was a request for a show I haven't seen, a guy in a wheelchair coaches football.

I feel like I'm forgetting something, but my brain has gone blank. Next plan is to make a recs post.
