I have to admit, I don't pay much attention to the atheist/skeptic "community." As frustrated as I get about some religious folks, I also don't want to hang out with people who spend all their time claiming they are the most rational of all and religion is the root of all evil blah blah. But for people who are comfortable there, I would hope they can at least build spaces that are not as full of (ironically irrational) sexism and other grossness.
Personally, I'd rather talk about bugs and SF novels and whatnot.
