And you wouldn't believe how thrilled I am to find someone in this whole debate that I agree with. (Well, about everything except Legolas/Gimli, but I'm so happy about the rest that I'll let that slide.) And I'd totally love to hear more "why we gen" posts.

The thing that has always bothered me is that Gen tends to be defined as a lack--"no sex" or whatever. I like your definitions because they provide some positive characteristics of Gen.
