Thank you for the orcs articles! I found them really interesting and a great counterpoint to that irritating debate where one side says, Tolkien was racist because he used darkness as a metaphor for evil, and the other counters, no he wasn't, he wrote that letter rejecting Nazi racial classifications. It makes a ton of sense for the orcs to be Mongol-ish, but that the target of that stereotype has shifted around with more recent history and colonialism.
