Funnily enough, the show which had a cheerfully "bad" cop for *ages* was "The Bill". Personally, I think that he was written as slightly bent for years, in order to have a little character aroung the place. They didn't put in the effort to make him a problem-child until a few months before he left the show. Still, if you've gotta go, do it in style. None of this "self sacrificial redemption" nonsense. A decent fireball will do it, every time.
