Damn it. I decided to rename my icons to make them easier to choose from, and now, afaict, all the ones I renamed have been replaced by my default icon in all the posts they appear in! Argh!

Yeah, LJ uses keywords to remember which icon went where. If you put in [new keyword], [old keyword] in your keywords section it should put them all back, and then you can just use the new keywords and ignore the old ones in your list.

The only problem is that you end up with BOTH keyword sets being listed, doubling the list length and (to me) being even more confusing :( I guess you could start all the new names with "aa" or something.
