A systematic rebuttal of the myths about asylum seekers Nicely short and simple. (Apparently the comments are terrible, though)

Do not vote the Greens, Australian Election 2010 A "Christian" ad so effective in getting across the message of "If you aren't a dogmatic theocratic Christian vote Green" that I have to wonder if it's actually a viral marketing ploy by the Greens. Note that no actual "pro-Christian" alternatives are named, not even on their website, and the Liberals aren't even mentioned explicitly. In general I find that any fundamentalist religious rhetoric which isn't either innocuous or scary and depressing is fake. But I could be wrong!

That's good little link. Although the comments are bordering on the rage-inducing. Almost no open minds, just people regurgitating old fears over and over.

:(

I haven't seen that advert; I don't think I want to.

The website doesn't say who has appropriately "Christian" values either. Maybe they only tell you if you join the mailing list?

I am sad that the asylum seeker debate is entirely untouched by fact.

I dunno, this one was pretty scary and depressing, and not just because it was blatantly filmed in Perth.

It was definitely a good ad for The Greens, though.

I wonder if people said the same things when Bob Hawke was Prime Minister.

the comment section of that article is heartening.

that video does seem to be a sort of checklist about why you should vote for the greens. it's probably legit, though. in order to register a .com.au domain name, you have to provide evidence that you're a business in australia (yours ABN at least) and your domain name has to relate somehow to that business. additionally, they actively solicit donations for their campaign. i don't think any party would be that dodgy.

I first watched the ad on mute because I'm at work, and with only the images to go off was shocked, SHOCKED to see that the Greens have jumped into bed with Labor and they're practicing bondage.

With the sound on, and on a more serious note: the voiceover people are both 98.5 Sonshine FM announcers, so I'm calling this very legit. I'm faintly puzzled about the use of the green grass motif.
