I have been Very Self-Sacrificing and left fangirling early even though it meant I missed the end of Season 3 double episode finale :( Can whoever owns it lend me the disk? Still, I got [livejournal.com profile] sonnlich chocolate (made by, not of) which I shall enjoy on the morrow, and got to see people other than my co-workers. Ones I like at that!

Also (and I am amused that [livejournal.com profile] theducks was the first to notice) I got my ears pierced. Yet another thing I vowed never to do bites the dust. Hoping they don't get too infected (I'm terrible at looking after cuts etc, and have sensitive skin, one of the main reasons I resisted) Still, earrings! I may investigate things I can hang off the loops tomorrow. So far the main drawback has been patchy sleep as I roll on my side, go "ow", try sleeping on my back, drift off, roll over etc.

I really need to make an effort to spend time with my friends, I noticed myself feeling sad when people at work weren't extra friendly(*), which is what I do when I don't see my friends enough. I'm free next Saturday, is anyone else? (Yes, I may try organising beyond an offhand lj remark, though then again I may not) There's the easter picnic, but by then I'll be trying to go off the choccy bandwagon, and you never know who'll turn up.
Pav: I will happily buy you lunch given your approaching debt-the-size-of-a-car-lessness :)

Ear piercing is a funny thing. When I was a kid I objected to it as this barbaric custom that we accepted out of inertia when we should view it with as much distaste and as lip-plates or ritual scarification (also, I was a big sook about pain). My attitude now is kind of similar, except that I don't see anything wrong with wierd "barbaric" body mods if they make you happy and don't do any major harm. Also it's easily reversible, and makes my head look prettier.

(*)On the plus side they're always at least fairly friendly.

I'm free, and would love to do something with you. Whilst I realise that this is impossible, I just thought you'd like to know that I would have liked to.

Earrings ARE annoying until you can take the studs out, sleepers are much better to sleep with. After saying that, I don't recommend taking the studs out early to replace them with sleepers because that's one way I gained earring infections. :)

Yes you should see lots more unisfans and that should include me. :)

Pfft, mum put sleepers in when we got home from the chemist and my ears are fine.

Though, I was like 6 months old, so I guess it's a wee bit different. =)

Aww, thanks :)

I went to a proper piercing place so got those rings-with-a-ball instead of studs. And no, I will not be taking them out for while :)

Well we are going on a wine tour to the Swan Valley this Saturday with lunch at the Packing Shed. There are 13people going so far (hiring a bus) so they may be an extra space on the bus if you're lucky. I'm not into wine myself, just going along for the food, views and the company. E-mail me if you want more details :)

I'm free this Saturday afternoon if you would like to catch up.

You seem to be going in the opposite direction as me, I used to have my ears pierced but haven't worn earrings in years so the holes have closed up.

Your icon looks tasty.

Sounds interesting but too much effort :) Still, thanks for mentioning it!

Hmm..sounds like a plan. Of course here we come up against the fact I can't organise to save my life :) I was pondering just dragging people to the easter picnic, less thinking involved.

The reason I decided earrings were worth the pain is I've gotten all obsessed with jewellry making, and earrings are easy and cheap.

Yes. I find this one tasty too ;P

*nods* well let me know if you want to be organised.

And I have been meaning to ask you about where you get your jewellry making stuff from and if you could recommend any good books/websites on how to get started.

The title of this post, coming from LJ doesn't look all that out of place. Coming from your LJ however, it looks decidedly odd.

yes! let's do something! I don't know what but I'm available any time after saturday morning. I'll ring you an we can organise something. Don't expect me to be coherent tho, I've been on the early shift at work this week.

Also, very impressed with your ear piercing decision. Glad you didn't go the piercing gun route.

It looks like [livejournal.com profile] nico_wolfwood might be organising something for me, not sure if the two of you have met (singaporean friend of mine from highschool. Name similar to a certain scottish monster) but I think you'd get along!

I get my stuff mainly from Bejamins Crafts in Mount Lawley (it's walking distance fom my house :)) but you can get a surprsing amount of cheaper starter materials from $2 shops, crazy clarks etc for initial experiments. I'm also a member of [livejournal.com profile] beadwork, they're quite helpful and have links to tutorials. It really depends on what you're interested in, since "jewellry" is a wide area. I got most of the info on the stuff I do (wire crochet and freeform peyote, plus generic bead-plus-wire stuff) via google, learning what techniques I wanted to look up by asking people on [livejournal.com profile] beadwork what the name of the style was when I saw something they'd done I liked.

If there's anything specific I've made you'd like to know about let me know- I have to go now, Cams about to show dowloaded Veronica Mars!!

Cool! Yeah, I'm sufficiently doomed to infection as it is :)

Yes I can lend you the disk. I assume you are coming to the easter picnic?

Unfortunately not, a friend is in sudden need of cheering up (her car died) and tomorrow is the only day she's free :(
