Just so I get them out of my head before I forget them. I'd only do one for any given concept, most likely is marked with *.
Basic concept: Fanvids which go against the grain of the source
Possible panel 1: The way fanfic/fanvids sometimes deconstruct the original source and make us see it in a new way. Mention relevant fanfic, show Women's Work, Origin Stories, etc.
*Possible Panel 2: Fanvids/AMVs/parodies/machinima which go against the source. Less meta more vids. Make sure to take from diverse fandomy type places. "Origin Stories", "The Shining" as heartwarming rom-com etc. Slash, constructed reality, parody, joining two or more sources into one. Cam is interested in running this with me.
Basic concept: Non spork worthy Anime
Possible panel 1: A feminist approach to anime (need a better title). Discuss the social context for anime and the reasons for the tropes it uses (including yoai, subservient women etc) Mention which shows don't buy into that, the ways it can be better (or at least, refreshingly different) than western work ie more gay characters, and related stuff. This is the sort of panel I think could do with an Actual Japanese Person (or at least someone who's been to japan) on it, so it isn't a bunch of australians talking about what "those japanese" do.
*Possible Panel 2: Anime for sf fans who hate anime (again, need better title) If you're the sort of person who naturally likes anime you'll put up with a lot of crap for that idtastic hit of giant robots or whatever else it is you crave. But if you're not then you can find yourself put off by all the giant robots, panty shots, hard-to-translate humour, etc. Go into the anime that is just really good sff and won't piss non anime fans off. ie Cowboy Bebop, Lain, Ghost in the Shell, Hellsing etc. How to choose between not annoying but blandie Haibane Renmai and crazily annoying but awesome, ie Neon Genesis Evangelion? How can we anime fans really tell which is which? Mention awesome non-sff anime like Satoishi Kon's work?
Include clips or at least screenshots?

Some of these are
nico_wolfwood and EEs ideas that I didn't write down because they were going to email me about them. Now you have to do your own lj post :P
I'm sure there were more but that's all that comes to mind. Any thoughts?

Some of these are
- The tropes and character archetypes of anime and where they come from (Aimed to be helpful to non-anime-fans but still interesting to anime fans)
- Panel or panels on soft sciences and related sf, ie biology, linguistics, sociology etc
- Military sf panel
- Portrayal of gay and lesbian characters in comics (like "Celluloid closet")
