What happened the first night we had dinner at the resort. The other restaurant we went to was much better in this respect.

Very quickly chucked together after Cam and I were discussing it. SPOILERS up to Episode 7, I guess, though inspired by events of episode 8: The last five minutes of Heroes season 3.

Latest page of ACOS. I'm happy with the dramatic angles here, I think this is my first real use of non-rectangular panels.

And now, the sequel to my last Hapless update. Ah, the joys of marriage...
This was fun to draw, and unlike the last one I had reference shots.

OMG I've updated Hapless
Apologies to anyone who finds this a bit syrupy, Part Two will probably be much more to your tastes when I get around to drawing it :)

I have no idea if it's any good since I am Not Very With It right now, but here is the next page of ACOS. Still, it's nice that I've been doing it long enough that given a storyboard I can create a comic without too much trouble even when I'm this brain dead. Had to change pens, my brush pen is pretty much dead. How bad that is depends on whether you count it in pages drawn since I bought it (only 11!) or time (about seven months. Still kinda sucky)
That's the end of this little section, and I only have the first page of the next section written (and am quite vague on what happens after the next two or three pages, one of those "I'm at A and need to get to B, but am not sure how to get there in the most entertaining and efficient manner" things) so I have some plotting to do, which may have to wait until my brain comes back out of it's "Everything sucks and is too hard!" shell.

Chapter 4 Page 0 and Chapter 4 Page 1 of ACOS. Yay me!
Yes, ok, so this was all one page until I scanned it in and changed my mind. Shush.
Thanks again to
nico_wolfwood for her feedback.

Feeling WELL dizzy for some reason today, had to come home after a whole hour of work (most of which was spent staring very hard at the screen to keep in focus)
But somehow I managed to do the next page of ACOS. I originally rejected this exchange from the draft for the previous comic, but decided it forms a necessary pause. This decision was reached after like two months of trying to get the next Amniat page to follow on from the one previous. Thanks again to
nico_wolfwood for beta-ing (am too lazy to send you completed image for second beta, you're all free to give feedback anyway and I just might edit it :))
Also! Found essay by the person who requested the Buffy vid (which I've already recced fangirlishly) Origin Stories about what she wanted for the vid, goes into the ickyness of the Whole Spike Thing in a way I very much agree with (though I didn't connect the show's separate issues with (a) race and (b)the Spike storyline in my head until seeing the vid)
And now to spend some time with the delightful (if somewhat preachy) Agnes Grey.

So, I dragged Cam to the bead shop today, and, well this is what happened...
EDIT: I think it makes an interesting counterpoint to this Achewood strip

New page of ACOS, super high quality thanks some very helpful beta-ing from the very generous and smart
nico_wolfwood (if nothing else I was too self conscious to send it to her till I'd double checked for spelling mistakes etc :))

Latest Hapless, on my continuing denial about Photoshop being the only program to use for comics.
Here's some more images, this time using Photobooth's(*) "mirror" function:
( Cut for straaange pictures )

Hey, I had to do one eventually. It was funny to compare this to drawing ACOS, since it is about a "talking cat" but it was still very different to write and draw (and I was reminded that I suck at drawing animal legs and human feet)

Once again I am home sick (SO SLEEPY. And I've been looking after myself and everything!) and have used the time to draw the next page of ACOS. I don't think I'll be smart enough to judge it's competence properly till I feel better (it was several days until after posting the last one that I realised I'd made several huge errors) but I am happy with Kira's expression in panel 4.
SO MANY EMAILS TO ANSWER SO LITTLE BRAIN. Ah well.

Latest ACOS. (Third this month! And it's a short month!) Dedicated to the friends and family who helped inspire it, you'll know who you are if you read it :)
And yes, there's a spelling mistake, since I already resaved it twice to fix two others, I'm waiting till tomorrow by which point I'll have probably found another one. EDIT: I can't believe I forgot to do shading! This is what happens when I post when I'm sick.

(a) It is only a few days after the last update and I have a new page of ACOS (admittedly, it's just one panel)
(b) It's heading towards 7 and I have little to no desire to eat dinner (admittedly, I had a large afternoon tea. I think it's disagreeing with me...)
My priorities are all wrong!

New ACOS, done entirely in pen!
Well, except the colouring, corrections, and an extra sound effect I added at the last minute. I tend to consider the "drawing my own panel edges" a failure, I and straight lines are not on the best of terms. Still, overall the pen thing is working pretty well, though I'm still not sure if not being able to mess with the picture too much once it's inked is good or bad. It means I don't spend so long fiddling pointlessly, but also means I can't fix the sort of large scale errors of flow etc that I only notice once it's "finished" (like the fact that what's going on in the penultimate panel isn't very clear)
Also, I belatedly realised that it might help I I bought decent (or at least not crap) paper.

I have FINALLY finished the first exercise in "Making comics": turning a movie into a 16 panel wordless comic. I've put it up on Hapless because, well, I can. Here's Page 1, Page 2 and Page 3.
Not my best work, but c'mon, eighteen panels(*). I'm just proud of myself for drawing the whole thing, and while I think it's probably not that clear the way I've drawn it, done better these scenes would capture the film pretty well, imho.
(*)16 wasn't quiiite enough.
