Adapted from various recipes, since I didn't like the look of any of the ones I could find via google.

Dry Ingredients:
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
2 teaspoons baking powder
optional flavouring: cinnamon, ground cloves, vanilla essence, 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar

Wet:
1 egg (beaten)
1/2 banana, mushed up
a bit over half a cup of milk (enough to make a battery consistency)
1 teaspoon oil

Mix/sift dry ingredients. Mix in the wet ingredients. Fry.

Tasty and chewy, it took effort to save Cam any :) Still hungry though (it's shopping day, there is very little to eat in the house)

Yummm, we have an overripe banana sitting at home so I might try this on saturday :-)

It's not perfect mind you, it just suits my particular tastes. They were slightly more successful (but less nicely oatmealy :)) with just a cup of plain flour and a full cup of milk.

Also: mashed banana in porridge is Very Tasty.

I like the sound of the oatmeal version so I'll go for that I think, texture is good :-)

I just can't handle porridge, I think it's the gloopiness of it or maybe it's yet another thing that was ruined by my stepmothers cooking *ahem* "skills". I can't even put a spoonful near my mouth without starting to gag.... shame really, it'd be a good winter breakfast in Canberra.

I can understand that. I hated porridge for years until a school camp where we made it with tinned fruit and it was by far the most appealing thing on the menu (not hard, it was up against things like tinned spaghetti and badly cooked curry)

Made the pancakes without banana today, also quite tasty :)
