So, here you all are! Yes, everyone who either I have friended or who has friended me, divided up by how we met. EDIT: This is ONLY people on my user info page. I have plenty of friends (and even more aquantances) not listed. Like, say, Cam :P

I was going to do bios until I decided this was a recipe for disaster (anyone who has seen me introduce people will understand why) so instead I have a series of hopefully fairly objective modifiers. Please let me know if I have any of these wrong! Also if there's any other things a lot of you have in common which might be interesting to record.

  • S: can be seen at swancons.
  • U: can be seen in the unisfa room
  • If they live somewhere other than Perth I've mentioned it. Being on holiday doesn't count :P
  • I've mentioned marriages but not other relationships because it seemed a good place to draw the line!

High School

Unisfa

Note I'm only counting people I met 100% through unisfa, not people I may have met there but gotten to know elsewhere. The divisions are rather arbitrary.

My generation (96-99)

I met quite a few of these in 99, my favourite year at uni. Coincidentally the year I got together with Cam :)

The previous generation (pre 97)

The next generation (2000+)

I may have some of these wrong, since my Phd ate my brain for most of this period.

Ummm....

Mainly people who aren't younger than me (or not much) but I met comparatively recently, so I don't mentally classify them in any of the above categories.

Non-unisfa perth circles

People I haven't actually met

Communities, feeds etc

These get bios because they can't get offended.

Finally, [livejournal.com profile] skaggig_man is the travel journal of [livejournal.com profile] the_riviera_kid and [livejournal.com profile] spaced00d is the old lj of [livejournal.com profile] edible_hat. And I have no idea who [livejournal.com profile] hey_there123 is.

In my defense, I'm sick :)

^__________^
Sunday, August 6th, 2006 07:43 am (UTC)
yeah, I thought you had to have had a job to be midguard, or at least have graduated (4months!!)
Sunday, August 6th, 2006 07:44 am (UTC)
erm, have had a job = having a fulltime job.
Sunday, August 6th, 2006 07:43 am (UTC)
I have not, nor do I ever think I will, attended a SwanCon
Sunday, August 6th, 2006 08:35 am (UTC)
Fixed! I'm sure I got like half of those wrong, sorry.
Sunday, August 6th, 2006 08:45 am (UTC)
oh, I don't care - just figured it should be correct.

you should also fix the part that says the people who started in 2002 and 03 are midguard, coz so not!
Sunday, August 6th, 2006 08:46 am (UTC)

Don't I exist?
Sunday, August 6th, 2006 09:04 am (UTC)
Not according to my friends list you don't :P This isn't everyone I know(*), just everyone on my user info page. Unless you're there and I didn't notice, in which case sorry!

(*)You'll notice Cam isn't there(**)
(**)Crap, just told Cam, now he wants to be on the list(***) :)
(***)Cam: Well DUH! *takes back keyboard*
Sunday, August 6th, 2006 09:27 am (UTC)
munchkin? *grins*
Sunday, August 6th, 2006 09:41 am (UTC)
It's what I call my younger siblings (born in 86 and 87) and thus how I see you all :)
Sunday, August 6th, 2006 02:09 pm (UTC)
I'm not surprised about you not knowing where I live, because I'm not very a forthcoming person - but I know you know I can be seen at Swancons, because you've seen me.
Monday, August 7th, 2006 01:06 am (UTC)
You don't live in Perth? It also occurs to me that you may be in the wrong year-I-met-you category, which isn't the end of the world I suppose.

Also, cute icon :)
Monday, August 7th, 2006 05:55 am (UTC)
No, I don't live in Perth, although I wish I did. (The Plan was that I'd come home until I worked what I wanted to do with my post-uni life, and then go back and do it in Perth. I'm still fine-tuning the details...)

I don't remember exactly when we met, but I can narrow it down enough to be confident that you put me in the right category.

Good, it's meant to be.

...also, I forgot to say: Double Helix magazine! Yay!

San Francisco! (though I'm actually in Vancouver at the moment)
Sunday, August 6th, 2006 04:03 pm (UTC)
This is pretty bloody cool. Actually it looks to be meme material for those with no attention spans (read, me)

Hope to see you tommrow!
Sunday, August 13th, 2006 06:55 am (UTC)
Sorry, was sick (thus I take a week to reply) Anyway, it has always been my dream to start a meme, (and failing that one these internet things people call memes) but I can see this being too much work for most people.
Monday, August 7th, 2006 06:00 am (UTC)
w00t! I get a bio! Take that, everybody else :P
Tuesday, August 8th, 2006 04:59 am (UTC)
Well remembered :)

FWIW (and I realise that this doesn't affect your categorisation of me) I met [livejournal.com profile] doctor_k_, [livejournal.com profile] strangedave and [livejournal.com profile] emma_in_oz through being a member of UniSFA from 1989 to 1995. (although in Dave's case I suspect the UCC should also share some of the blame).
Sunday, August 13th, 2006 06:53 am (UTC)
Well see, if you'd hung around till 1997 you'd be in the same section as them :)
Sunday, August 13th, 2006 10:27 am (UTC)
I know I shouldn't have moved to England! ;)
