sqbr: I lay on the couch, suffering an out of spoons error (spoons)

There's another train...

So at this point only one person is really turning up to Stargate, and he doesn't even like the show. It occured to me that if I changed the format I might get to see other people as well. I do Not Get Out Much so this would be nice.

Please only choose options you would ACTUALLY TURN UP TO. Not necessarily every fortnight or whatever, but not never or only once either. Keep in mind I live in Bayswater.

And I understand many of you would come if you had the time/lived on the right continent etc, no offense taken :)

[Poll #1345300]

Options for "Something else" to be decided if enough people seem interested.

I feel pretty crap right now but am feeling very Disclaimer 4aish and this seemed the safest thing on my to-do list.

I'd like to show up, for Stargate or whatever, but it really depends on what time and what day. My Wednesday evening availability varies widely,

Apart from the movie, I'm not really a fan of Stargate.

Hardly anyone show up for my Friday Film Club either.

see I would attend the movie night over stargate (cause not a big fan) however with no car its hard to do night stuff. For record, up till when I get back friday was undoable but work removed my saturdays so can do now. If I could get a lift to/from each week then I'm all in (maybe a jason Statham night?) wednesdays will be okay but difficult as I will have 4 hours of french early in the morning and travelling twice to similar area in the same day but different times of day would suck.

Yeah, I think there's a lot of us stuck at home at night!

Yeah, I'm not expecting HUGE turnouts whatever I do.

I would like to turn up to the film club! I had *plans* to try and organise to come along to the singalong one. I just suck. :(

Stargate, I mean really. Really.

(Sorry, but really.)

Heh, yeah, fair call.

I kept having it thrust upon me and decided that if I was going to end up hearing so much about it/end up watching episodes over cam's shoulder etc I might as well watch the relatively good bits in order and get some feel for the plot arcs, but even the "good" bits are full of badness.

There's probably better things you could screen. I think Stargate qualifies as watchable (I've probably seen four or five episodes, and the movie wasn't too bad IIRC), and I'm not trying to be a huge snob.

Would be nice to see you take on something unheard-of and brilliant. For instance people were talking about Edge of Darkness as "possibly the best TV show ever made" recently, and a film remake is coming out soonish I think. If you found and screened that, I'd be very interested.

I'll probably stick to stuff we own and beyond that fairly cheerful stuff people can miss a few episodes of, which I think will encourage more of the low-obligation long term friendly socialising which is my goal. Still, I think I can go a step or two above Stargate :)

I am actually planning on watching Edge of Darkness but stuff rented via Quickflix REALLY doesn't suit movie nights. I will try and remember to post a review!

I'd love to show up for something, but my ability to show up regularly is poor (shiftwork) and I do have to leave very early often due to an early start the next day.

Totally understandable. [livejournal.com profile] mandragora2003 has the same thing, it's great when she can come but I don't have any expectations.

Like Nephron, I'm not 100% at showing up. Mondays and Thursdays are usually best. Not so sure about Stargate, but I'd give it (or something else) a go.

I like the idea of turning up, I like the idea of watching Stargate. I've not been turning up for various reasons including being out of town, failing to read lj and thus be reminded that it was on, and being too something to drive (usually tired/unwell, but sometimes busy).

I'd be quite happy if you posted random 'come and visit me' notices, as long as there is enough time warning.

The caveat on this is that I've just started playing music with a group one night a week, so my family might be a tad grumpy if I go out another night as well, so all of the above might be completely irrelevant.
