sqbr: And yet all I can think is this will make for a great livejournal entry. (livejournal)

Off to play with a newer shiner toy

So, we got Foxtel.

It's fun. We got almost all the channels free for the first month, but I think the only extra one I'm going to miss is the comedy channel. I guess we can get it one month at a time later on if I miss it too much. Having IQ makes a huge difference (it allows you to choose what to record in advance and stores up to 60 hrs of shows)

Having chronic fatigue is a deeply unpleasant experience, but it does mean that I can say, in all honesty, that lying down on the couch, moving and thinking as little as possible, is actually good for me :) So I did that today and it was good. I'd be doing it now but Cam has claimed the loungeroom to watch all the stuff he's recorded. (Currently a documentary on the destruction of large aircraft. It turns out the "science" channels tend to be quite explicitly aimed at his sort of "destruction, planes, weapons, and Big Stuff" geekboy tastes, which I find a bit disappointing)

Anyway, on the plus side this means I will hopefully keep myself off the internet when I'm feeling really sleepy and grumpy, which will hopefully mean (a)less headaches and (b)less incredibly tactless posts and comments.
Well, I can but dream.

I highly recommend Eggheads on UKTV, just after The Weakest Link.

Lol did you guys get it in the 'good thinking' sale? :P

There's this show called TimeWarp or something like that on the Discovery Channel (??) which is pretty cool, if a bit repetitive.

Basically they get high speed cameras and slow down all these things so they look awesome and you can see how it actually happens. Like glass breaking or people doing pool tricks and stuff.

I'm not sure. It was a sale. Installation and first month free.

I could not find it :( But looking for it I found a bunch of other interesting looking science stuff :)
