Lily posted a musical autobiography, I thought instead I'd try and find songs from important moments in my life which I identified with at the time. These are mostly angsty/break up songs because that's my favourite genre, and my emotional involvement with music seems to be directly proportional to how teenage and/or depressed I am feeling.

Some of the songs as a rather odd YouTube playlist.

I'm so Worried, Monty Python: I was a very neurotic child.

Syntax Error, Peter Combe: I got into computers young and became totally obsessed

Greg! The Stop Sign! TISM: This song captures the paralysing indecision of youth perfectly.

A selection of angsty/dissafected highschool songs:
Coma, Max Sharam
Black Hole Sun, Soundgarden
Park Life, Blur
Karma Police, Radiohead

I will Survive, Cake: And I did :)

No Aphrodisiac like Loneliness, The Whitlams: I liked my ex the most when we were apart

Hyperballad, Bjork: Dealing with my Ex

Amazed, Lonestar: A lovesong which was popular when I and Cam got together which he really liked, and thus I liked even though it's Not My Thing At All.

Celebrate the Failure, The Fauves: God damn John Howard.

Spinning Plates, Radiohead: Not coping very well my Phd

Your Horoscope for Today, Wierd Al: getting into skeptical/atheist discussions as a way of avoiding my Phd. (Did not actually kill all my friends for laughing behind my back..)

Who Cares? Gnarls Barkley: Finishing off my Phd, and dealing with my health problems left me feeling rather conflicted and confused about my life and future.

Bogoroditse Devo, Rachmaninov: What was playing when I walked up the ailse :) I and Cam sang this in the intervarsity choir in Sydney in 2002.

Mr Sellack, The Roches: (From this Buffy vid, which isn't on YouTube) Various issues with having to leave or cut down on work thanks to being sick, and settling for a life which was not what I had in mind.

That took FOREVER!
