So. I've been reading this anonymous fanfic fandom discussion meme and the discussion around it with mixed feelings. On the one hand, there's some interesting discussion of a type you don't see many other places, on the other there's some really vile nastiness and Fail, and specifically there's been some nasty attacks on people I like and respect. I thought to myself "How would I feel if people said that stuff about me? Not that I'm well known enough that anyone would bother."

I started a few vague pondery posts but couldn't articulate my thoughts, what with this chronic illness that makes me too sleepy to write coherently, answer my mail or deal with much of anything most of the time(*). (Achievement for today: opened windows to air out house, remembered to close them again)

But! I just found out that I am in fact one of the the secret minds behind the meme!

IT WAS SO SECRET EVEN I DIDN'T KNOW.

I know it's just one person and I'm sure 99% of the people on the meme would respond with either "Who?" or "What?" but since it's just bizarre rather than nasty I don't mind feeding the "troll".

Finally, the results of the Photo Meme. I would have been sooner, but I kept forgetting to photograph Cam and then the photo vanished! And then I waited until I could be bothered making smaller versions of the photos, and then I decided I couldn't. So these are big.

I kind of cheated in that I opened my eyes without thinking during my first attempt so this is my second (I didn't think of doing the ears and head as one thing the first time) Also I opened my eyes before doing the text.

Plus I have a graphic tablet, which is probably the most important factor :)

flyingblogspot and infamyanonymous both posted about personality type things just now, which got me thinking. I did the Myers Briggs test and as happened last time was totally unimpressed with the result (me, an overbearing leader? It is to laugh. The only bit I'm 100% happy with is the T) But this reminded me of a personality classification they were talking about on the Psychology 101 podcast, and after some digging I found it: The Big 5.

The problem with these things is all the people who get left out (I eventually decided to just go with stream of consciousness and write whoever came to mind, or I'd be here all day)

Home sick again today. Am womanfully refraining from an emo post about my health.

Anyway, some things I have encountered:

Apparently I have a New York City accent. I am curious to know what people from other places-which-aren't-america get :) (Also whether not actual americans found it accurate. Gacked from Real Life Genuine American seaya)

Two really interesting articles about class in Supernatural (seriously, I've only watched half of season one and still really enjoyed them just as a general discussion): Masculinity and social class and Class and white masculinity in Supernatural. I'm really interested in portrayals of class in scifi, but making any analysis myself is hampered by the difference between class here and in the countries in which the scifi I watch is made. (Also, currently, sick and stupid)

Saw "Forbidden Planet" the other day, it's actually pretty good, like one of the better original "Star Trek" episodes, only as a movie with effects which are both impressive and incredibly dated, and sexism so unselfconsciously extreme it's just amusing. It's wierd seeing Leslie Nielson as a young leading man. Also: I spent the whole film waiting for the famous "robot holding prone woman" image from the cover, only to find that nothing remotely like that happens in the film :)

Those "say something anonymous" posts aren't really my sort of thing, but I can see the purpose they serve.

So: feel free to ask me a question, any question. It doesn't matter how dumb. I will give a response, most likely an answer to your question unless I decide it's too tricky or I don't like it :)
Statements (about me or the price of eggs or whatever) are welcome too if that's what you feel like doing.
