Just saw physiotherapist, apparently I need orthotics and lotsa podiatry, and so should get health insurance. Are there any funds people have good experiences with? I'm just thinking Extras of some type. I don't see how they can make money and I can save money at the same time, so I'm a little dubious.

He taped up my knees, it feels really wierd. They keep complaining that they don't feel right, but given they've stopped being in pain for ther first time in a while, I'm not paying any attention. Also, I would be drawing Circle of Stars (I have set out the entire plotline! Though I still have some details to iron out) but my wrist cramps up when I try to draw. Stupid body! You're 26! Be healthy dammit!

Man am I buggered. Stupid irony. I told Cam I would only play the Pin Pals Wednesday Night Boardgames if we left at 10 or so rather than starting another game and staying till midnight+. Which would have worked if the first game (Settlers and Knights of Kataan) hadn't lasted four and a half hours. This game is won by the first person to get 14 points. For the last hour or two we had almost entirely used up all avenues for point making between us and the scores were like 10, 12, 13, 13. Guh.

Also, this morning I came accross this itty bitty baby honeyeater that had fallen out of it's nest :( It was so cute. I knocked on the door of the house it was in front of and this nice old man came out and said he'd take care of it, I hope it's ok.

Well, I'm with Medibank Private - Blue Ribbon Extras Plus, to be precise. It costs ~$38 a month, and covers large chunks of things. Figures from memory - $300 a year chiro, $400 physio, $250 optical, unlimited general dental. *shrug* i certainly got my moneys worth with the chiro and optical.

uhhh, you might have a bit of a problem with the 'preexisting problem' policy of most health insurers. if its already there before you get health cover they generally dont cover you for it.

however, not always the case - and might just be for things like heart conditions etc so check it out.

Who should I contact about Wed night boardgames to find out if it is OK for me to come along? (once I've quit weekday work)

I was looking at the lowest tier of hospital and extras combined, and HBF turned out about $50 year cheaper than Medibank for what looked like about the same cover. I haven't had to make a claim yet (that'll change on Saturday), so I don't know whether this will prove to have been a good move or not.
