Loosely inspired by the anonymous comment memes: I would like EVERYONE who sees this post to comment on it.
That includes people whose flists I'm on, people I know who don't have ljs, strangers who came accross it randomly via friend-of-friends, even random surfers who accidentally come accross it googling(*) for something unrelated in a couple of years time. Everyone.
You don't have to say anything deep, you don't have to say anything at all. I will not judge you for reading this even if we barely know each other or don't at all. It would be nice if anonymous commenters could identify themselves ("Hi, you don't know me, I came across this googling for pancake recipes" is more than enough :)) but as long as everyone only posts once(**) I'll live.
If you want some direction on what to post, some ideas:
-the first thing that pops into your head
-a book recommendation
-how you came accross this post (though too many "Via my friends list" entries could get kinda dull)
-A smiley face
-The word "cheese!" (or, as
the_riviera_kid suggests, "Pancake recipes" :))
-anything else you feel like. Though IP logging is not off, this isn't that kind of meme :) And I will probably avoid replies since it'd be nice for the number of comments to roughly match the number of commenters.
(*)Or whatever it is we'll be doing to find stuff online once the singularity/apocolypse comes
(**)Replying to other people's comments is ok I guess, but I want to make sure there's only one comment thread per person.

They're kind of hard to describe concisely, though. Um. Kind of a similar tone to Digger, come to think of it, although with fewer wombats and more carnivorous unicorns.
(I found out recently that they've been published as e-books by Baen: the first few chapters of the first book are online free, and then you have to pay to read the rest.)

LISWA used to have exactly one copy of 'God Stalk', which was kept in a special box in the State Library and only lent out to people who specifically requested it; that was how I first read it. I don't know if they've still got it, though.
