Thanks to bantha_fodder, this interesting post on what actually happens with the curse in Pirates of the Carribean: World's End. With a link to this sweet little story that is exactly how I would like to think things went after the movie. *probable spoilers in comments*

..also, I uh, just watched the rest of the first disk of Gilmore girls and they, uh..didn't suck. So maybe everyone was right and it does get better. In my defense I was goaded into posting before I had a chance to get a more informed opinion! Also I still think some apects are problematic, just not as irredeemably so.

See, I like the ending as is from a cinematic POV but also like knowing that things are happier than they appear from a schmoopy girl POV :)
