Does anyone know any good dentists? Preferably near me, but eh. I've decided it's time to take "see dentist" off the "feel guilty about it but don't do it" part of my to-do list.

EDIT: Aren't these pretty? (I made them, such a genius) All spoken for now, sorry :)

Tomorrow begins the 2 weeks of Crazy Work that is the July holidays. Do not expect to hear from me for a while.

Our dentist in Willagee is pretty good. But I'm sure there are good ones closer to you too. =)

The pendants are preeeeeeetty.

Not really near you, but I quite like my dentist - Dr Terry Pitsikas. He's very good about letting you know what you'll be up for, and giving you options if there are any ;)
(copy from whitepages follows - he practices in different surgeries on different days)

He's my mum and step-dad's dentist too, and apparently a really nice guy (as well as being a good dentist).

Hmm..will investigate tommorrow(*). Thanks!

(*)I may look at a map now to remind myself just how far away those suburbs are.

The pink one is really pretty. What do you want for it?
Saturday, July 8th, 2006 12:54 pm (UTC)
$5 would cover materials plus a little extra for my trouble :)
Saturday, July 8th, 2006 10:13 am (UTC)
Wow, did you make them? They're pretty! I like the purple one, but if someone else wants it, they can have it. So nifty! What is the stuff in the middle, by the way?

(Also, Corrin's and my dentist is in forrestfield= not close to you at all).
Saturday, July 8th, 2006 12:57 pm (UTC)
You were first, it's yours! I was pondering giving them away for free, but have retconned the low low price of $5 to cover costs (ignoring the fact I was given the stones :) )

Also: they're coloured quartz.

Cool!! I don't know when I'll next see you, however.

S'cool, I actually made them ages ago but had to wait like 3 months until [livejournal.com profile] nico_wolfwood had a chance to choose one (she got first dibs) so it can wait a little longer. I'm teaching at UWA next semester so I should have a chance to se you some time :)

Yay! Sophie will be around UniSFA!

Yeah, I'm one of those pathetic old guard who can't let go 100% :) (Partly I just miss the maths tutoring. Wait, is that more or less pathetic?)
Monday, July 10th, 2006 04:05 pm (UTC)
I still don't think of you as old guard. Perhaps because you're not whiny and I actually like you...

Those gems are... gems. So very pretty!

Wow those look awesome. Could I have the purple one? Are you selling them? If so for how much?
Saturday, July 8th, 2006 10:27 am (UTC)
That was me on the wrong computer :(
Saturday, July 8th, 2006 01:06 pm (UTC)
Sorry, [livejournal.com profile] auntpol beat you!
Saturday, July 8th, 2006 11:56 am (UTC)
people are willing to pay for your work! You are now no longer an unproductive artist! Is this an occasion for joy? *grin*

Also: good luck with the madding crowd!

Pfft. I already sold 2 bracelets at Swancon like ages ago.

Total profit (minus materials and labour)...something negative :)

It is a great feeling though. I'm not sure my parents ever sold anything they made.

Anyway, sleepy! Bed!

Shiny!

those are cool... nice work :)
hmm... *contemplates giving sophie some more pretty stones*

I have to warn you I don't do commissions (my creative ability tends to sputter unreliably) but will gladly take free pretty stuff :)
Wednesday, July 12th, 2006 05:27 pm (UTC)
I just don't get it. In the last say, three years, there has been a HUGE increase jewelrey that was immediately before considered gaudy. I'm not knocking your creations as they are fairly pretty, but you must understand that I like minimalist and/or shiny. However, some home-made/market bought creations look like they could have been made by Austrolapethicus... putting different colour beads on a string does not jewelry make. For one, there is no gold... Mr T would not approve.

Your creations are cute.

(I still feel that I have offended you somehow. Ahh well, I'm sure you'll offend me sometime in the future to make it even).

Oh I agree, that's why I'm giving them away. A well meaning friend gave me the stones as a present so I decided to get the hang of stone wrapping as a challenge. Any futher pendants will be made with something other than large pieces of flouro coloured quartz :)

And yes, there is some utter crap out there for sale, which is partly what inspired me to make my own in a "Pfft, I bet I could do better than that" way.

A lot of comments last night, procrastinating are we? :)
