Doing my homework

I have been very bad today, and instead of practising the shows I need to learn for work, or doing my corrections, I made this icon:

(I'm never sure which icon will show with an entry)
I found the tutorial I stole the textures from via [livejournal.com profile] elaran's userpics (I knew some of hers were kind of what I was after) and the background via a brief google. A mini apple pie to the first person to get the reference :) I've always wanted to see if I could do the ubiquitous pseudo-arty icon style, but am too self conscious to do one sincerely.

I also did some t-shirt transfers, one of this radiohead pic I've always wanted a shirt of and the other a design I may post when I can be bothered.

Still, I've been a bit of a marking dynamo, so that's one less thing I'll have to worry about. Better go do the rest I suppose. Sigh.

EDIT: In case my boss reads this I did practice the speeches a bit, they just weren't coming out right at all so I stopped. If my supervisors read thus, uh...Look! An unclassified simple group! *runs*

I admit that I had to do a little googling to refresh my memory. I knew it sounded familiar. I won't mention the reference here, since I'm not in a position to claim said apple pie.
I like the icon.

Yeah, it's cheating if you google. And it's a metaphorical pie, thus you are in as much of a position to claim it as anyone.

I'm actually beginning to suspect that google has mislead me and caused a false recollection, so I'm going to keep my big mouth shut.

I never thought you could be so callous as to lie about pie. Metaphorical is just a fancy word for "pie I made up".

Ha! Little do you know I am a frequent, flagrant and unapologetic pie-lier! No pie for you! Bwahahaha!

toilet paper poetry? I think that's where it's from anyway...

yay! i _thought_ thats where it was from, but googled it after the post too. couldnt find any reference to toilet paper, or even the actual author of the poem originally!

I think the best we can hope for is "Some hack at the Sorbent corporation" :)

I like them, but at the same time they get a bit samey, I think people limit themselves by only making one style. I geuss it's more craft than art but looks like it thinks it's art(*) which is what bugs me. Yet I think it's pretty, all in all mixed feelings :)

(*)the very first icon in that style might have been, but the 1001th is not.
