I was unfortunately not up to going out yesterday, but today went to the Wastelands Steampunk con and it was heaps of fun. Very low key, and I get the feeling there were more costumes yesterday (though some of the ones today were still nice) but still great.

And here is the costume I've been working on: A steampunk Suffragette!

Oh and Lynn: if you get lost in the many posts on my lj, here is the one on the zodiascope. Note to self: If you're going to spend several days making a prop, make sure you have some way to display visibly on your costume or it or noone will notice...

EDIT: Yes, I did very briefly accidentally have a different post here and deleted it :P

I was suddenly inspired to make this icon based on my Swancon costume. The phrase "with an axe" rings a bell but I can't figure out where from EDIT: stolen from [livejournal.com profile] velithya, see comments.

Also, Brumby's "Maple pecan twist" is the nicest pastry ever invented.

Cam has put the photos up at our gallery and Flickr.

I was going to post highlights, but there's Just So Many (really, the masquerade was amazing) So, not so much highlights as stuff involving me or that you might not realise was awesome till you had it pointed out to you. Go look at them all!

Me as Cheery Littlebottom (a dwarf exploring her femininity, pity he missed my awseome boots). Me, Phlebas and Pav as Cheery, Sally and Angua out on the town (from "Thud" by Terry Pratchett) Note Pav's beautifully made badge. I just printed mine off the internet :)
Unfortunately I don't have any shots of Cam as Otto the vampire photographer.

Elizabeth Moon in my costume!! Well, bits of it anyway.

The cast of Firefly plus their tiny evil twins (really, that's stomach bacteria behind them).

Liz in her award winning costume.

Also, I didn't end up going to it but Dance Dance Revolution looks like it was interesting.
