The insanity has finally come to an end!

A Hapless update celebrating the end of MyCoWriMo (also my birthday "picnic" which went pretty well even though we're left with like billion years of Points(tm) worth of food)

So, how was you guys November? (nb by "failed" I mean "Did really badly")

Because it had no say in it (no say in it at all)

Happy birthday Hapless!!

A little late, but hey, I forgot it's first birthday all together. It's SO much easier to draw a comic when I don't have to worry about setting it up or figuring out body positions etc.

A bazillion birds with one stone

New Hapless, if nothing else it should make [livejournal.com profile] tommmo happy (or horribly offended. Also he may sue for copyright infringement)

Whoa, it's 10:30 already?

A sleepy Hapless

This is all true (Apologies to those who gave suggestions, but it is not about [livejournal.com profile] tommmo, a telepathic radio, or mushrooms, maybe next time :))

Right on schedule

So, since I could hardly have a crazy-lotsa-comics month without updating it at least once....the next page of ACOS.

I'm pretty happy with this one in terms of exposition, worldbuilding, and humour. Admitedly my judgement is pretty unreliable when I'm this woozy. I promise that the next comic will have:
(a) absolutely no exposition or worldbuilding
(b) Plot and drama! Well, by ACOS standards anyway :)

Unless I change my mind and put in a comic where Teo painstakingly describes the Sabedurian social structure. That could be fun too :D

Am home sick. I have lost the motivation to eat (lunch so far has been a banana and a carrot). This is very disturbing.

Down but not out

Well, I thought I was done doing comics this month (apart from maybe ACOS) but got inspired! I blame Walt Disney, a [livejournal.com profile] skeletor_hordak comic. Blame them and their running gags for the uncharacteristic rude language :)

A major milestone in modern cartooning

The fiftieth Hapless!!!! (sort of)

Have been reading "Making Comics". Does not teach plagiarism, but otherwise good.

Learning from the best

New comic, inspired by a bunch of books that arrived from Amazon today. (And, indirectly, by me not being able to find the headphones for my ipod while stuck on a slow train)

This is crazy: four comics? In a ROW?? I'm running out of steam for sure, but still.

All the colours of the wind

Stretching the definition of comic, my next submission. From a prompt from [livejournal.com profile] penchaft, although as you can see I don't work well from other people's ideas (I only got this one to work by interpreting it very loosely) so further prompts will likely not be taken up on :)

Had a very fun but tiring day at Zoe (not that one)'s first birthday party, where I got to play with three different adorable babies.

Hapless: the movie!

No really, it's a movie.

Today was heaps of fun. Met up with [livejournal.com profile] mexicanjewlizrd (and none of the other people who expressed interest in free Scitech tickets, so I still have three for anyone who can be bothered getting them off me), watched..odd intepretive dance/comedy, [livejournal.com profile] harveystoat doing standup, and then did an animation workshop. I also chatted to a bunch of the staff which was really nice, and also saw Ken and [livejournal.com profile] meljane.

And then a driving lesson, with an instructor who was actually impressed with my ability (it was the first lesson. She will soon learn that while 11 years of intermittent lessons have gotten me to a mediocre standard, lifting my game any higher is harder than it looks)

Now, a hypothetical. Imagine you're a waitperson. You have the following conversation:
Customer: Can I have the chicken burger please, no sauce.
You: Not even barbeque sauce?
Customer: None. No mayonnaise, no tomato sauce, nothing but chicken, salad, and bread.
You: Got it.

Which of the following condiments do you put on the burger:
(a) Butter
(b) Mayonaise
(c) Cheese
(d) All of the above

If you said (d), congratulations! You're suitable to be hired by the "Club" cafe. *mutters*

Under the wire!

Todays comic.

Well, that's already double my expected comics output for November right there :) And hey, I'm nearly at 50! (this one says it's 50, but that's just due to some being deleted and reposted) Given that I started drawing these in 1994, at my average rate it should only take me another year or two to get there, sweet! (Or a few days if I keep up with this. Hahahaha)

Missing lowered goals

So, inspired by [livejournal.com profile] nano_wrimo and [livejournal.com profile] thebabygrind, I decided to set myself the goal of one comic (or at least picture) per day of November. I did one on Halloween as a spare, and one yesterday, but haven't been bothered today. There's still a few hours left!

Anyway, the resulting comic from yesterday. I like how a few years of drawing ACOS has really improved my ability to draw things the way I want first time, even if the images themselves aren't all that much better.
